Thanksgiving 2008

We spent Thanksgiving with both of our families this year.  Nana's house on Thursday and Grandma and Grandpa Fitzgerald's house on Friday.  Kellen was able to sit "at" the table with us during both meals.  It was so wonderful to have him there with everyone.  He has added such brightness and laughter to all of our lives.  Colin and I often find ourselves wondering, "What did we do before Kellen arrived?".  It's hard to remember what life was like before he joined our family.  Amazing how such a lil' person can change our lives so much.  Our families have a lot to be thankful for this year.  We are truly blessed. :-)

Happy Family

Anacortes, WA

We took a roadtrip to Anacortes, WA to celebrate the Morgenthaler's new house and Kelly Morgenthaler's 30th birthday.  We were a little nervous about the 4 1/2 hour drive because Kellen absolutely hates his carseat, so we decided to leave Friday night right before Kellen's bedtime.  It worked out perfectly!  Kellen slept the ENTIRE way up there!  While we were visiting up North, we were able to also visit Joe and Ari Werder in Bow, WA for their son, Pace's 1st birthday.  It was so great to finally meet Pace.  What an adorable little boy!  The Morgenthaler's have a beautiful new home.  It was so nice to spend the weekend with them and help them celebrate two incredible milestones.  Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and hope you had a fantastic 30th, Kelly!!!

Momma's (Katherine's) 32nd Birthday

We celebrated my 32nd birthday at my mom's house.  Steve, Cristina, Riley and Anna were also able to join the party.  Anna made birthday party placemats for the table and they were adorably creative!  It was a perfect celebration!

Happy Birthday to mommy!

Kellen is 9 months old!!

Our baby turned 9 months old on the 13th of this month.  It's crazy to see him now looking like a little boy rather than a baby.  His personality is sure shining through.  He loves to tease us with toys and has learned how to dance to music!  He weighs a little under 21 pounds (50th percentile) and is 29 inches long (75th percentile).  Such a fast growing lil' boy!  Kellen now cruises along any furniture that he pulls himself up on and stands momentarily on his own.  It's only a matter of time before this kid starts walking!  We had to graduate Kellen from his duck tub to the big boy tub because he was climbing in and out of the inflatable duck.  Kellen also loves to speed crawl to Pippen's water bowl.  He has learned that if he picks his right leg up and uses his foot like a crab-crawl, he can get to places faster than crawling regularly.  We can't babyproof this house fast enough!

Halloween 2008!

Kellen's first Halloween was a success!  After trick-or treating with his friends at his Daycare Provider's neighborhood during the day, he was ready for round two once Grandma & Grandpa Fitzgerald and Nana arrived.  We had to show off our lil' monkey to our neighbor friends before Colin dressed up in his traditional scary costume to scare the trick-or-treaters.  Even though there were SEVERAL screams and a few crying children (one child must have left skid marks from running away so fast!), the night was pleasant.  Colin and I even managed to sneak off to a Halloween Party at Hilary and Chris' after Kellen fell asleep.  It was so wonderful to have the grandparents here to help out and celebrate with us.
